Track & Field 2025

Hello BBMS Guardians,

I'm excited to announce that Big Bear Middle School officially has a Track and Field team that is joining the Cross Valley League this spring season! We need all interested athletes who like to sprint, run longer distances, jump, and throw to join the team and compete at both home and away meets! There are no tryouts, but students must have a current physical on file to practice and compete.

Track and Field Events include the following:
Sprint distances: 100m, 200m, and 400m
Long distance: 800m, 1 mile, 2 mile
Relays: 4 x 100m, 4 x 400m
Hurdles: 100m, 200m, and 400m
Long jump, triple jump, and high jump
Shot put and discus
Athletes may participate in any and all events they'd like! League meets will mostly be held in April. Every league meet will be on Fridays at 4 pm. I will also be on the hunt for southern California invitational meets that students can participate in. These will be held on the weekends.

Also, soccer coincides with our Track and Field season, however, soccer players who would still like to compete in track may practice with their soccer teams and attend meets on Fridays!

Official Track and Field practices begin on Monday, March 3. They will be held every day after school from 2:20-3:30 pm. Pre-season conditioning practices will begin Monday, January 13 and will be held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays after school from 2:15-3:15 pm.
