Principal's Message
Welcome to Cub Country and the BBMS Cub Family!
It is my pleasure to welcome students, families, staff, and community members to Big Bear Middle School. At BBMS, we are proud to be a school community dedicated to helping every student grow academically, socially, and emotionally during these important middle school years.
Our talented and dedicated staff works tirelessly to prepare students for success in high school, college, careers, and life beyond the classroom. While academic achievement is a priority, we believe that education extends far beyond textbooks and tests. We teach the skills students need to become responsible, accountable, organized, and resilient individuals who are prepared to meet future challenges with confidence.
At BBMS, we recognize that every student is unique. By taking the time to understand our students as individuals, we are better able to support their academic, social, and emotional needs. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where all students feel valued, connected, and empowered to reach their highest potential. To support this goal, we offer a variety of academic and social-emotional resources designed to help every student succeed.
Strong partnerships between home and school are essential to student success. We communicate regularly with families through ParentSquare and encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their student's educational journey. Our school thrives because of the collective efforts of our teachers, staff, administration, students, families, and community members. Together, we form the BBMS Cub Family.
We welcome and encourage open communication. If you have questions, concerns, or ideas, please do not hesitate to contact our office by phone, email, or through ParentSquare. We value your partnership and believe that working together creates the best opportunities for our students.
Our goal is for every student to discover their potential, develop strong character, and become a positive, contributing member of society. We place a strong emphasis on citizenship, leadership, and community involvement as we prepare students to become engaged members of the larger Big Bear community and beyond.
As principal, I believe middle school is a time of tremendous growth, change, and opportunity. Our responsibility is to support students through these formative years, guide them toward positive choices, and help them develop the skills and confidence they will need to succeed in high school and throughout their lives. We take our responsibility for educating the middle school students in the Big Bear community very seriously, and we are honored to partner with families in this important work.
Thank you for being part of our Cub Family. We look forward to another year of learning, growth, and success together.
Go Cubs!
Gratefully,
Lisann C. Francisco, Ed.D.
